DR (Dr) Farayi Shakespeare Moyana is an ORTHO-DENTIST ( a new term referring to dentists with a special interest in Orthodontics). He has a special interest in ORTHODONTICS at the same time providing the usual comprehensive general dentistry services,including but not limited to DENTAL Implants, crown & bridge, root canal treatments, dental surgery such as wisdom tooth extraction, normal tooth extraction, scaling and polishing, dental fillings, tooth replacement e. g dentures etc. He is Director of the Zimbabwe Academy of Dental Nursing ( www.zadenu.org) and Domboshava Medclinic ( www.domboshavamedclinic.org). Has been involved in dentistry for the past 35 years, starting at a tender age of 19 years when he obtained a dental therapist diploma in 1987. He works part-time for very discounted charges , helping those in need with low incomes at Domboshava Medclinic dental centre and Daniye Dental clinic at Kuwadzana 2 shops (as a corporate social responsibility). In 1990 he earned a Health Teachers Diploma . He Graduated with an Advanced Health pedagogy Diploma from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology ( now called Sask Poly), Canada in 1991. By the time he left for SA to pursue a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree he had acquired another diploma and a Bachelor's degree in Adult Education from the Univ of Zimbabwe. Graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences Univ, a Master of Public Health (MPH) and MBA degrees from the University of Limpopo and Zimbabwe Open University respectively , in 2008. Was conferred with Post-graduate Diplomas in orthodontics from the Univ of Pretoria and Health research ethics (Center for Medical Ethics & Law, Tygerberg Hosp, Stellenbosch Univ) in 2010 and 2014 respectively.Also a proud recipient of the Exec Management Diploma organized jointly by the DFID & and Zimbabwe MOH in 1996. He completed a Postgrad program in dental implants at the Univ of Pretoria in 2017. His MPhil Thesis in Applied Ethics, at Stellenbosch University is: A System in Crisis: Ethical Concerns in Zimbabwean Healthcare in the 21st Century. His thesis title for a PhD degree at Wits School of Clinical Medicine, Steve Biko Centre for Bioethics is: Towards An Ethically Justified Health Care Model In Zimbabwe. He teaches part-time at the Sch of Dental Therapy & Technology in Harare. He is a member of the International Team for Implantology and a member of the Research Ethics Assoc of Southern Africa (REASA).
